Fat Boy Drive-In 2024 Opening

It was just a few weeks ago where it seemed as though one of Maine's most popular drive-in food spots, Fat Boy Drive-In in Brunswick, Maine, hinted that they were close to reopening for the season.

And while it was possible Mainers thought it was going to happen sooner than it is (it's possible to blame Mother Nature dishing out over half a month of rain all April long), a recent sign change from "Now Hiring Apply Online" to listing their actual season opening date made it official.

Fat Boy Drive-In Menu

Honestly, you have to give the crew at Fat Boy credit, too. Picking the day before Cinco de Mayo to open up, ensuring that when everyone maxes out on margaritas, burritos, and nachos, they'll want to soak up all that tequila with some of the biggest, most juicy burgers in the state.

The same juicy burgers, by the way, that was recently named as being one of the best cheeseburgers in the entire country.

That said, when Fat Boy Drive-In opens for the next handful of months on Saturday, May 4, what should your first order of the season be? Nothing but the absolute best, obviously.

Start out with their Royal Burger, which, according to the Fat Boy Drive-In menu, is a quarter pound patty with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. And if you don't add cheese to it, well, you're clearly doing it wrong since, again, we just mentioned it's one of the best cheeseburgers in the nation.

Follow up with a side order of their popular crinkle cut fries, and wash it all down with one of their famous frappes, which, next to their U.S.-leading cheeseburger, may be some of the best frappes in the world.

After you've had the best, then you can spend the rest of summer exploring their other delicious menu options. But for your first trip of the season, there's on reason to put off what put them on the map.

You can thank us later.
