5 Things Your Dog Wants To Do During Their Summer Vacation in Maine

Our dogs made it through another Maine winter by our sides and they want to enjoy everything that a Maine summer has to offer, too. From ice cream to beach romps to summer camp, your pup will have the #BestSummerEver.

1. Sunset Playtime at East End Beach

Many your favorite dog friendly off-leash beaches switch to a before 9 a.m and after 5 p.m. policy. Your dog doesn't care what time of day it is, in fact, they'll probably prefer the cooler sunset air as they build sandcastles with their pals on the beach. East End Beach on Portland's Peninsula is a favorite spot for pups and their owners to burn a little energy at the end of the day.

2. Doggy Daycare at Roscoe's Bed & Bark

I can't say the name Roscoe in my house without my dogs turning into two crazed monsters who can't wait to get into the car and on the way to see all their puppy pals. Dogs love to party, too! We're throwing the first annual Hops & Hounds event at Raitt Homestead Farm in Eliot, Maine on Saturday, June 17th. The event will give your dog lots to do including new butts to sniff, a hydration station, and plenty of vendors with new toys to shop. Don't worry, we'll take care of the humans, too, with adult beverages and the Dock Dogs Competition.

5. Day Hike at Bradbury Mountain State Park

Get outside and explore Maine with your dog. Bradbury Mountain State Park is a great easy hike for first timers. Make sure you take plenty of photos at the summit.
