Don't ya just love crawling into bed after a long day? You won't after reading this:

1. Did you know we sweat about a pint while we sleep? That's fine if it evaporates but if it doesn't your bed becomes a breeding ground for mold and mildew.

2.  Let's talk about your pillows. It's no secret that people drool while sleeping. That drool, along with any hair products, and any perspiration collect in your pillow over time. leaving stains and more mold.

3. Got pets? Turns out there's something called zoonoses, which are pathogens that travel from animals to humans.

4. Did you know that your mattress actually GAINS weight over time due to dead skin, sweat,and other bodily fluids? By the time you're ready for a new mattress, the old one could weigh up to 10 pounds heavier than when you first got it. GROSS!!!!

5. BED BUGS! That's really all I have to say on this one. Those little bugs can drink up to 7 times their body weight in your blood and reek havoc on your life. Plus, they're very hard to get rid of due to their high tolerance of heat and cold, and they are great at hiding from sight.

6. Dust mites. These microscopic critters feed on your dead skin which the mattress collects. Dust mites are known for causing allergies, breathing problems, and more. Everyday we shed about 1.5 grams of skin. Not a lot right? That amount of dead skin will feed 1 million dust mites! In fact here's a video of those little creepy crawlys..

 

You can win the battle easily by washing your sheets at least once a week, vacuum your mattress on a regular basis, and maybe even buy a mattress protector.
