Back in the Day Cafe Features No Doubt and Beck Today

Back in the Day Café starts at 12 noon on the Q! We have a couple featured artists today - Beck and Gwen Stefani with No Doubt. "Loser" was a 90's anthem for Beck and happened spontaneously. No Doubt based "Hey Baby" on after parties. Check out how they came up with these classics!

Beck wrote "Loser" out of desperation when playing local coffee shops back in the early 90's. When the audience wouldn't listen, he made up bizarre lyrics to see if he could get a reaction. It worked. He got signed and in a 6 hour recording session - he recorded "Loser."

Gwen and No Doubt based "Hey Baby" on the parties they had on tour after their shows. They experimented with effects and dancehall style music - which was very experimental for them at that time. In the song, Gwen also touches on her long distance relationship with Gavin Rossdale.
