The Maine Turnpike was the scene of a high speed chase Wednesday night, featuring the Maine State Police, a 25-year-old Biddeford man and unbeknownst to police, a 2-year-old girl as well.

According to WGME, a State Trooper clocked the 25-year-old man's car going 111 miles per hour on the Maine Turnpike. A short chase reportedly ensued before the man crashed his car near the Saco exit, and then abandoned his car, and the child, to run off into the woods in hopes of eluding troopers. The child was not hurt in the crash and eventually brought back to her mother.

The 25-year-old man stayed in the woods for nearly six hours, suffering minor hypothermia, before being apprehended by police and charged with multiple crimes.
