As a parent of an almost 10-year-old, you learn that they start getting into trends. He's doing that dab thing where he looks like he's sneezing. That I can handle, but this water bottle trick? It's the worst.

It's hard to believe my son is almost 10-years-old now. It seems like just yesterday Jake was born and I remember thinking shortly after that it would take forever before he was walking around the house. Forever came quick.

Now he's a fourth grader and just like when we were kids, trends and fads run throughout his elementary school. I have YouTube to thank for the one he won't stop doing. Remember the kid at the talent show who flipped the water bottle?

That video took the internet by storm back in May, but now it's invaded my home in the form of a 10-year-old human.

I was sitting at the table working on my computer with a half empty bottle of water when I hear the thing slap against the table and hit the floor. I look up and there's Jake picking it up and getting ready for his second attempt to have it land upright on the table.

"WHOA!" I said. "Don't do that! You don't know if the cap is on tight and it might spill!"

In his confident voice he tells me, "Dad. I checked it first."

"Yeah but that's MY water!"

"It's okay Dad," he says calmly.

"No it's not!" I say not so calmly.

This happens all...the...time.

I love this kid, but this has to stop or I'm going to start using a sports bottle that he won't have any fun flipping.

Am I the only one that has a kid obsessed with bottle flipping?
