A guy in Detroit invented a cross between bowling and football one day at a tailgate party, and now he's opened up a warehouse for people to come play Fowling.

Fowling is just what it sounds like. It's just like bowling, instead of rolling a ball, you throw a football at the pins.

Here are the rules from the Fowling Warehouse website based in Detroit:

Get a Strike, you win!

Get a BonkTM you win! If on your first throw of the game you get the middle pin off the board, and all other pins remaining standing, you get to blow the Bonk Honk at the bar! Trust us, it's really loud.

A pin down is a pin down during normal game play.

A maliciously knocked down pin is always returned to it's upright position.

Any non-malicious act that knocks down a pin, counts. Examples: wind, accidental grazing of pins while clearing boards, dogs, earthquake, footballs from adjacent games.

Don't throw pins at other pins, or at each other - not safe for anyone and will earn you a quick exit out of the building.

At the end of every match, meet in the middle and shake hands. A hearty "Good Fowl" is always expected.

Doesn't it look and sound fun?

The owner is smart though. He's got a trademark on the game, so if anyone opens a Fowling center in Maine, they'll need to get the rights, but there's nothing stopping you from setting up some pins in the back yard and playing it at home.

Let me know when you're ready. I'll bring the beer.
