Spa Tech Helps with Oil Spill (Misc)
Time: 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Location: 1041 Brighton Ave Portland

Spa Tech Institute, school of cosmetology in Portland, Maine is working with local salons to collect hair for Matter of Trust. Matter of Trust is a non-profit organization making mats and booms out of hair to help with the Gulf Oil Spill. Students at Spa Tech Institute are gathering hair from every cut and storing it in lined boxes to be used for cleaning up the oil spill in the Gulf. Along with the hair, students have put together a box for used clean nylons, even the ones with snags, for Matter of Trust to be able to make the hair booms. The students are very excited about being able to give back and help out. Spa Tech Institute is actively looking for salons to join them in their efforts. If you are interested in working with Spa Tech Institute and the Matter of Trust program please contact Charlotte at 207-772-2591 or e-mail her at OilSpill@SpaTech.edu. As a school they are acting as a central drop off location for salons who are taking part in collecting hair.
