It's not in Portland, or Kennebunk, or even any of our national or state parks. Maine's Most Instagrammed Place is better known for it's pier fries than for it's scenery, but people can't stop snapping photos.

Busbud.com analyzed Instagram photos across the U.S. and Canada to uncover the most popular photos in each state and province. Not surprisingly, the top 10 most photographed categories in the United States includes parks, historic sites, zoos, and ski and snowboard areas.

The most Instagrammed place in Maine isn't Acadia National Park, Sugarloaf Mountain, or York's Wild Animal Kingdom, as one might assume based on the top 10 list above. Instead, Maine's most Instagrammed location is a tourist favorite and hotspot for carnival rides, fried foods, and sunbathing on crowded sand.

That's right! Maine's most Instagrammed place, according to busbud.com is Old Orchard Beach!

I searched the Old Orchard Beach hashtag and found some gorgeous photos of the infamous OOB that've been snapped in the last month. I'd argue that the off-season version of Old Orchard Beach is more beautiful than the in-season Old Orchard Beach. Do you agree?
