My 7-year old daughter Roxy recently had to swallow a pill for the first time and needless to say she had a hard time! I've heard most of the common tips and tricks; do have any that might help her along?

I've read (and tried some of) the following to help get better at taking pills:

  1. Practice with Tic-Tacs first
  2. Using foods like yogurt or ice cream to help
  3. The big gulp method - put the pill on your child's tongue and then tell them to fill their mouth with a lot of water, swish the water all around for 15 seconds, and then swallow.
  4. Gargle for 30 seconds or take a deep breath before trying to swallow the pill.

Do you have any more "non-traditional" tips or tricks that have worked with your kids? Please share!
