A Portland hospital is holding a patient at the request of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control who has been deemed a low risk of having Ebola, according to WMTW.

The Portland television news station reported that Maine Medical Center officials issued a press release Monday confirming that request. WMTW also reported that Dr. Sheila Pinette, head of Maine's CDC, said she has been in conversation with federal officials about this case and described it as a "very, very low risk for Ebola."

The Maine case was reported less than a week after Thomas Eric Duncan was the first U.S. resident to die from the deadly disease in Dallas, Texas. Meanwhile, another man remains isolated in a Boston, Mass., hospital after he displayed some possible Ebola virus symptoms, according to NECN.
