With gubernatorial candidate Democrat Mike Michaud coming out...a lot of us who have done that are reliving the moment.

It IS a moment.  Every story is different, but I think it's safe to say that the end result of that weight lifted off your shoulders is a common feeling.  The Press Herald did a story recently on coming out and interviewed me.  I'll never forget it.  It was live on the radio, during the Q Morning Show back in the summer of 2011.  I was scared to death.

Not so much about coming out, but just how to actually say it without sounding preachy, or nonchalant...or...hell...whatever.

I know that it shouldn't be a big deal, or even news worthy - but it still is.  If you are struggling with coming out, all I can say and advise is...well, you'll know when it's time.  Do it when YOU want to, when YOU are up to it.  But I can tell you - the scariest part is all in your head.

It continues to be one of the best things I've ever done. That and quitting trans fats.
