A musician who grew up in South Portland and Windham helped to write Selena Gomez's new song "Back To You," according to the Portland Press Herald. The song will be featured on the soundtrack of a popular Netflix series called “13 Reasons Why,” which premieres on Friday, May 18th.

Singer and songwriter Amy Allen graduated from Waynflete School in Portland in 2010. Allen then went to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and was the lead singer and guitarist for the band Amy & The Engine, as per the Press Herald. The 26-year-old now lives in California where she continues to pursue her music career.

PopCrush describes "Back To You" as an emotional, country-hued EDM-pop tune. Allen told the Press Herald that the song is "deeply personal for her" and she "wrote it about her first love."
