The Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunk has been called the world's oldest and largest 'mass transit' museum. You'll find mostly trolley cars at the museum, but it's also home to trolley buses, motor buses, and rapid transit trains.

In 1939 Maine was phasing out trolley cars and replacing them with motor buses. Railfans wanted to preserve the trolley cars. A piece of farm land was rented on Log Cabin Road in Kennebunk and the Seashore Trolley Museum was born.
