Alcohol and axes, what could possibly go wrong? Beginning this weekend you can chuck axes at a bar in Somerville, Massachusetts.

According to Eater Boston, the Urban Axes bar will be opening in Union Square, Somerville. Feel free to start throwing axes beginning at 5pm on Friday, December 7th!

Urban Axes offers walk-in hours as well as booking group events. And judging from it's website, this is going to be a pretty popular spot. There are already sold out days and times.

They also offer gift cards for those ax-loving beer drinkers on your Christmas list. Oh don't worry, they also sell wine and cider.

There is some important information you may want to know before heading to Urban Axes: (I love the second bullet point)!

  • Urban Axes is a 21+ facility. No one under the age of 21 is permitted entry. All guests must provide valid photo identification on entry.
  • All participants must wear closed toe shoes.
  • Urban Axes Boston is a LICENSED venue serving beer, wine and cider
  • Reservations are secured with a $90 deposit for groups of 6-12 people or a $135 deposit for groups of 13-24 people.
  • The balance is due the day of your event, and can be paid individually ($45 per participant) or all together.
  • We are a cashless facility and accept debit or credit cards ONLY.
  • Please confirm your headcount before booking a reservation.

The axes used are hatchets, which weight about a pound and half each. You throw them at wooden targets. Sort of like a game of darts.
