Everyone loves a good deal, but are you sure it's legit? If you see a coupon posted on Facebook it may be a scam.

Just today I saw three coupon offers on Facebook my friends had shared. Who wouldn't want a free dozen donuts? It seemed too good to be true to me, so I looked closely at the coupon.

Dunkin Facebook Scam

We love Dunkin', but giving anyone with this coupon a free box of donuts sounds overly generous. But the real clue that this is not legit is where the post came from. Look closely at the website address.

Dunkin Facebook Scam Address

Very sneaky, but this is typical of the scammers. The real website for Dunkin' Donuts is dunkindonuts.com, but at quick glance it looks legit. It gets shared, sending who knows how many people to a malicious website.

Dunkin' isn't the only one. There are dozens of coupon deals circulating on Facebook using the same tactic to get you to take the bait.

Kohls Facebook Scam

Kohl's offers coupons all the time, so it looks legit too, but Kohl's was founded in 1962 so 2016 would be the 54th anniversary not the 56th. These guys can't even get dates right. And of course the website address is not the official Kohl's website and is not associated with Kohl's in any way. It's a malicious scam. Do not click!

Don't believe everything you see on Facebook. Take the time to look at these coupons, and if the deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
