I just discovered yet another food that Maine takes for granted, while the other lower 47 have no idea it exists.

Have you had ployes?

Apparently, they're a Canadian and northern Maine delicacy, a healthy hybrid between a pancake and a crepe. They're a snack or breakfast food and are held in highest regard when rolled up and topped with local syrup and Maine blueberries. Who knew? Oh, all of Maine/ French Canadians and no one else? Sounds about right.

There you have it, world. Add "ployes" to the list of edible oddities found in the home of Moxie, Needhams, whoopie pies and brown bread. Maine, you cray.
