I've done my best to not swear around my kids much. Of course, it happens from time to time. I was curious about whether you swear around your kids and/or if you let them swear at home. I went on The Q's Facebook and asked that question. Here is a what you said.

Dee: I swear around my kids however they are not allowed to until they are 18

Michelle:  I swear like a pirate to be perfectly honest. I have 2 boys, 7 and 13. They know that they are not allowed to swear until they are adults, period. I teach them that there are certain things in life that you don't earn until you become an adult and swearing is one of them. Plus, I'd rather them hear it from me and not be shocked by hearing it from someone else.

Lauren: Yes to both. I think teaching my kids NOW about 'bad' language is better than them hearing it somewhere else and repeating it. My 7 year old knows she can only cuss at home and I've NEVER heard her do it anywhere else.

Experts say that it's normal for kids to swear. Young kids will swear just repeating what they hear. Older kids will swear to test their parents' reactions. Here are some tips on what you can do to curb the swearing.

What age do you think it's okay to swear in front of your kids AND what age is appropriate for THEM to swear around YOU? Answer in the comments section of the website below or on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
