Dumb Driver on Maine Turnpike Caught on Dash Cam

A driver on the Maine Turnpike in Gray pulled a bonehead move that almost turned into a horrific accident and it was all caught on a truck dash cam. 

The Maine State Police posted this video on their Facebook page showing a driver in the passing lane near the Gray service plaza. A truck following the car at 70 miles per hour narrowly misses the driver as they turn left into the crossover between the north and southbound lanes. You know that area that is reserved for police and DOT vehicles? Bad move.

When authorized vehicles use the crossover, they have lights and warnings so drivers are aware that a vehicle is turning into the lane. We don't, and it is very dangerous to use the crossover because you missed your exit.

Suck it up buttercup and drive to the next exit to turn around, or you're going to get someone killed.
