Ed Sheeran crashed Katy Perry's BBC Radio 1 interview on February 23 where the two traded funny stories, including an anecdote about the first time the two artists met one another.

While chatting with the radio station before the BRIT Awards on Wednesday, Sheeran popped into the studio, where Perry greeted him with with a sarcastic barb about his single's top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

"Thanks babes, for keeping me off the number one spot," she said, laughing as she playfully flipped him the middle finger.

Sitting down at the mic, Sheeran delighted the studio with the awkward story of how he and the pop star first met.

"First time I ever met Katy, I played a gig in Toronto, and I was sweating so bad," he revealed. "And then I saw Katy behind the stage and thought, 'Oh God, Katy Perry's here. This is really embarrassing. I'm really sweaty!' I walked up to her, and I was like, 'Hi.' And she like, 'I would hug you, but ew!"

Scrunching her nose, Perry laughed and pointed out how she didn't want to get his DNA on her, but regrets it now knowing how much his career would blow up.

"Your DNA!" she said, quipping, "But now that you're Ed Sheeran, it's like, put your ball sack on me! Like, all of it!"

"Back then he was just like, Ed Sheeran, this guy, you know, with red hair who plays guitar," she added.
