Neither the Emerge Film Festival organizers or the movie directors could have scripted a more perfect beginning for the first day of a brand new event. Festival goers in Lewiston-Auburn will be greeted by a full moon on Friday the 13th which could add some excitement to what already promises to be an amazing weekend.

The Emerge Film Festival will run on Friday and Saturday and the movies will be screened in the Franco Center at the Lewiston Public Library and the Free Grace Presbyterian Church. Films will also be screened in the Auburn Public Library, according to film festival officials.

According to the film festival schedule, there are more than 40 short, documentary and feature films from Maine, the U.S. and the world, according to festival organizers. Check out some of the movie trailers from some of the films that will be screened this weekend, if you dare...
