Everything Is Awesome! – Why Tegan and Sara Agreed To Sing It [VIDEO]

The Lego Movie is still number one in theaters and if you have a child under the age of 12 you've no doubt seen it at least once. Ever since I saw it last weekend with my son, I wake up almost every morning with the theme song in my head. 

'Everything Is Awesome' is that catchy song from the movie performed by Tegan and Sara who had a hit on the Q called 'Closer.'

Now they've got another hit on their hands in a movie about toys. How can they be taken seriously now? They told Billboard:

We want to be a 'serious' musical band, while also being funny people, but this was so adorable, and the movie looked great, and the opportunity to do something with Mark Mothersbaugh and the Lonely Island... it was sort of a no-brainer, and it's turned out to be this really cool moment. We feel like it was a win-win."

Well they called it right. An earworm of a song in the number one movie three weeks running? That IS a win-win.
