A new restaurant and pub named after the man who helped create Maine's Moxie Festival is now open in the same building he ran his store from.

Frank Anicetti's Kennebec Fruit Company was a family store on the corner in Lisbon Falls for over 100 years. Frank sold anything and everything you could imagine having to do with Moxie, including the beverage itself that he described as needing three tastes of to know that you like it. When Frank decided to retire and sell the building, it was bought by Tony and Traci Austin of Lisbon and transformed into Frank's Restaurant and Pub which had its opening on July 19.

Unfortunately, Frank passed away in May and was unable to see what his store had been transformed into. There's no doubt he would have loved it as the Austin's have kept the charm and atmosphere of the original store and made it a tribute to the man called 'Mr. Moxie' and the drink he loved.

Franks' grand opening was a part of an event run by Positive Change Lisbon, a group of business owners and citizens that are working with the town to improve the image of Lisbon and make it a better place to live work and play. There were ribbon cutting ceremonies at nine new businesses on Main Street and one business anniversary, with the final ribbon cutting at Frank's.

There was a great turnout for the first night and here's hoping that Frank's legacy will live on for years to come as part of the history of Lisbon.
