The Gorham Police Department and the FBI worked quickly on Sunday to investigate a  threat posted on Snapchat.

According to a press release from the Gorham Police Department, the FBI notified them of the threat posted in a Snapchat story. Officers investigated a home in Gorham and found that no one there was involved with the threat. A student at the home then posted inaccurate information that the threat was to shoot up Gorham High School causing a panic that police then had to allocate additional resources to deal with. Police assured those concerned that there was no threat to the school.

Police did not say what the actual threat was, but it was determined to have not originated in the Gorham community at all and the information has been forwarded to the proper authorities for further investigation.
