Holy Crap – I Found the Picture of Me Lip Syncing to Prince in 1990!

This isn't it.

Let's set the stage - it was the 80's and lip syncing was all the rage. I combined my love of Prince, 'Purple Rain' and going out on Saturday nights. I would lip sync the song 'Darlling Nikki' from the movie at gay bars. They would have contests and I probably did this a half a dozen times. I would try to win money. I won a few bucks here and there.

I was 19, and it was Los Angeles. However, I did do it ONCE in Maine at 'The Underground' back in 1990. 'The Underground' is now 'Styxx' on Spring Street. I was 25 years old and I only have one picture. It's not the best quality - but you get the idea.

Oh to be that weight again. Made my own jacket by spiffying up a velvet blazer. A ruffled white shirt, yes - snake skin tight legging things, black lace gloves and a DRAWN ON mustache.

Oh man...this was a long time ago. It was the year Kylie was born. You heard me....

I think my favorite part of his picture is something I never really noticed before. Obviously my performance was riveting - look at the body language of the people behind me. Arms crossed = super fun!

Ahhhhh, the 80's. For those of you who can only imagine that decade - well, you missed a good one.
