I was just trying to buy a breakfast sandwich. A bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin. Little did I know that 10:23 in the morning is prime time for picking up chicks in line at Dunkin' Donuts.

The Q97.9 studios are in One City Center. There's a Dunkin' Donuts on the first floor, which is the most convenient thing after getting of the air with a growling stomach. I hopped the escalator down two floors yesterday to grab myself a bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin.

There was a short line and it moved quickly. There were two boys in front of me, probably my age or a few years younger. The second boy ordered himself two old-fashioned donuts and a coffee as I craned my neck to see what kind of Munchkins were available. The boy turned half-way around and said, "And I'll buy whatever she's ordering."

I thought maybe this was a pay-it-forward situation. I smiled, politely declined (I had a gift card anyway), and he proceeded to pay for his own food. I ordered my food and stood patiently beside the same boy as we waited for our treats. I told him that it was a nice gesture and I appreciated the offer and he mumbled something about bacon sandwiches. Then the conversation progressed at lightning speed.

BOY: What do you do for work?

ME: I work at Q97.9.

BOY: Doing what? Are you the new intern?

ME: Well, I'm new. I'm not an intern though. I'm on The Q Morning Show.

BOY: Oh, Kylie?

ME: Yes, that's me.

BOY: What are you doing Friday night?

Woah, that was sudden. Did you see that coming? Because I didn't. Clearly he wasn't a regular listener of the show because I talk about my fiancé, Michael, quite often. I was so shocked at his fearlessness and the suddenness of his question that I covered my mouth as my jaw dropped to the floor. Conveniently, I used my left hand with my engagement ring and quietly responded, "Hanging out with my fiancé."

His eyes darted around the room for an escape (or to see who had just witnessed this awkward exchange) and said, "Well, that's very nice!" He quickly turned, grabbed his buddy, and darted out the door.

I think his caramel iced coffee with cream and sugar is still sitting on the counter.

Do you have any weird or funny stories about those times you've been hit on? Spill 'em!

P.S. For reference, and proof that my fiancé is real, here's one of our engagement photos.
