Curling is a relatively new sport in the winter Olympics, only being officially added to the games in 1998, but it has gained popularity since then. The Pine Tree Curling Club is a prime example of that popularity.

The club was founded in 2015 with the goal of "promoting the sport of Curling throughout the Southern Maine area by offering opportunities to learn and enjoy the sport."

The club meets at the William B. Troubh Ice Arena, formerly named the Portland Ice Arena, and is offering classes in March and April to anyone wishing to learn how to play. They of course will provide the brooms and the stones.

Would you be a sweeper or a thrower? Get more info, and dates of the classes below this video from WMTW News 8 on the Pine Tree Curling Club.
