Michele and I went out to dinner Friday night and were surprised when a man came to our table, put $30 on it and said he wanted to help us with dinner. Now I need to find this man.

This wasn't a pay it forward sort of thing. It was apology money that was unnecessary and I want to get his $30 back to him. We weren't the only table he gave money to either.

Nearly every parent has been there. You're out in public somewhere when your child gets sick. We all know how embarrassing it can be especially in a restaurant where people are enjoying their dinner.

It happened right next to our table, but we honestly didn't even notice it had happened until I saw the father apologizing to one of the staff. We didn't think anything of it because we're both parents and could sympathize with both the parents and the child.

As the family was leaving, he quickly went to a few tables setting money down saying he wanted to help with dinner, his way of apologizing. It was a kind gesture but completely unnecessary and I pleaded with him to keep his money, but he would have none of it and quickly walked away.

So here I am with $30 and now I'm feeling guilty too. I have money that came out of this guy's pocket after he spent a significant amount of money to take his family out for a nice meal together. I don't think a single person in the restaurant batted an eye because as parents, we've all been there.

So, if you are reading this or know the person who this might be, please get him this message. I still have your $30 and I want you to have it and I would like to invite you and your family to come to the radio station for a tour and give you a little something back for your unnecessary generosity. You're clearly an excellent father and kind person who had to experience one of those embarrassing moments that all parents go through.

Get in touch and allow me to return that generosity and maybe put a smile on your family's faces.
