Is This Where Krispy Kreme Will be Setting Up Shop in South Portland?

File this one as a rumor for now, but the word around town is that Krispy Kreme is going to be part of a new construction project in South Portland. 

We've heard rumblings that a permit has been filed to build at 50 Maine Mall Road in South Portland and part of that construction will include a new Krispy Kreme location.

If true, this would be the second Krispy Kreme location announced for Maine. You'll remember the first is coming to Auburn after a renovation of the former Paris Farmer's Union on Center Street.

There's been no official announcement yet and if a Krispy Kreme were coming to 50 Maine Mall Road, it would still probably be at least a year away as the permit process is rumored to have just begun.
