The dickering is over. At least on the History Channel. Low ratings are being blamed for the cancellation of 'Down East Dickering,' the reality show on The History Channel that follows groups of Mainers looking for bargains with the help of 'Uncle Henry's.'

The stars of the show have become local celebrities. These guys are true Mainers born and raised, with thick Maine accents and they're always on the hunt for the best deal on just about anything. Unfortunately the rest of the world didn't find them as entertaining as we did so the History Channel said no to a third season.

I've never quite understood what dickering has to do with history, but then again 'TLC' used to stand for The Learning Channel and no one is learning anything there anymore.

You can still watch old episodes of 'Down East Dickering' on The History Channel's website while supplies last.
