Portland filmmaker Kyle Rankin took his film crew to the streets of Portland two summers ago to film the zombie apocalypse/comedy Night of the Living Deb. It was screened all over Maine, but if you missed it, soon you can get your own copy on video.

Kyle made a name for himself when he and Efram Potelle won the HBO contest The Greenlight Project backed by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Then he went on to film Night of the Living Deb in his hometown.

Here's the plot summary according to the official website:

After a girls’ night out, endearingly awkward Deb (Maria Thayer) wakes up in the apartment of pretty boy Ryan (Michael Cassidy), only to be ushered out the door…and into a full-scale zombie apocalypse. Now, the mismatched pair must fight for survival and discover that the only thing scarier than trusting someone with your life is trusting them with your heart.

You'll see all kinds of locations around Portland you'll recognize. I'd hope of there is every a zombie apocalypse in Portland, that this is how it goes down.

See anyone you recognize as a zombie? If you watch the movie, I bet you will. Look closely and you might see someone we all know.

Night of the Living Deb will be available on September 6 on DVD, Blu-Ray, iTunes, and Google Play.
