Maine Named One of the Worst States to Make a Living In Last Year

A list of the best states to make a living in in 2015 shows that we have some room to grow here in Maine. A lot of room.

As we look back on 2015, it's kind of sad to see that a list published by Money-Rates.com puts Maine as one of the 10 worst states to earn a living in. In fact the only place in America that is worse than Maine is Oregon and Hawaii. Hawaii?!? I guess it's a nice place to visit but you wouldn't want to live there. I suppose the same could be said about Maine too. Ugh.

To determine the best states to live in, the website took into account each state's average wages, taxes, cost of living, unemployment rate, and number of workplace safety incidents. Where we really lost points was workplace safety. We tied for the most illness, injuries and fatalities in the workplace. Go Maine.

In case you want to go where the money is, the best place to earn a living in America is Texas. Everything's bigger in Texas...including wages. We can only go up from here right?
