You may remember last winter when some people up in Sinclair, Maine in Aroostook County built a ice merry-go-round on Long Lake. For perspective, let's show you how far north we're talking here.

If you were to drive from Kittery to Sinclair, you'd be in the car for 6 hours.

Anyway, the crazy folks up in Sinclair from the Snowmobile Northern Maine club, cut a perfect circle in the ice of Long Lake last year and put a few outboard motors on it to send it spinning.

This year though it was go big or go home. They were out to break the world record set in Finland. They cut a circle that measured 426.5 feet in diameter to create the carousel that is estimated to weigh 22 million pounds, and it spins!

It's large enough to beat the world record, but hasn't been verified by Guinness World Records yet. Let's hope this gets their attention.
