Kyle Rankin, the Mainer who brought us, 'Night of the Living Deb' is back in Maine for a new film, 'The Witch Files'.

I met Kyle back in the 90's when he won Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Project Greenlight, a contest for new filmmakers. The prize was a $2 million budget to make a film called 'The Battle of Shaker Heights'. It starred Shia LaBeouf and came out in 2003. He's been busy making movies ever since and always tries to come back to Maine.

'The Witch Files' is about 5 teenage girls in different cliques at a high school who all get detention. They find out they have powers, which they need to fight a much older witch who lived in Maine before the Salem witch trials in the 1690's.

The first day of filming will be Sunday, outside of Morse High School on High Street in Bath. That is the high school that these girls go to, and shooting will be inside and outside over four days,

There also will be a scene shot at the Miss Portland Diner on Marginal Way in Portland on May 3.

It stars Holly Taylor (Paige from 'The Americans') and there could be some opportunities to either be in the movie, or at least watch some pretty cool stuff!

I'm going to stalk Kyle a bit and see if he'll have time to stop by the studio. It would be cool to talk to him about his latest project!
