For the third straight Summer Olympic games Elle Logan and her team have taken the gold medal in the Women's Coxed Eight rowing event.

The United States took home the gold a full two and a half seconds ahead of Great Britain at a time of 6:01.49.  The Americans also had the top time in the heats leading up to the competition as well.  Romania finished in third place with the bronze.

The gold will be Logan's third all-time in the event after she previously won in China in 2008 and London back in 2012.  Logan lives in Boothbay Harbor and was named the Pac-12 Rower of the Century earlier this year for her time with Stanford.
