Ever been nabbed for speeding in Maine? It probably took a big bite out of your wallet. That bite might be a little bit smaller, starting on Monday.

The Portland Press Herald is reporting that Maine's high speeding ticket fines are set to reduce on Monday, thanks to the judicial system conducting a review of the fines in neighboring states.

Fines are set to decrease by about 15%, after a study was conducted by the Maine Judicial Branch Violations Bureau.

News Center Maine reported that the study concluded that Maine charges significantly more for "lower-end speeding infractions" than neighboring states.

Hey, lead foot... easy there! The Maine State Police said that they don't really care what the fines are, they just enforce the speed limit anyway.

Slow it down!
