A man made an amazing discovery in the frozen water of a river in Alaska that shows how harsh it can be for animals in the wild.

Brad Webster of Unalakleet, Alaska found two moose frozen in the water with antlers locked. Jeff Erickson was one of the men involved in trying to remove the moose from the ice. When they returned, it had snowed and left only the antlers visible.

According to Atlas Obscura, Jeff says that it appeared that one the tines on the antler of one moose penetrated the skull of the other killing it. With their antlers locked, the surviving moose was unable to free himself and they both ended up dying in the frozen river.

Jeff posted more pictures on his Facebook page. He was able to remove the heads of the moose for mounting. It's a picture that may not be suitable for everyone, so be warned.
