That's me on the left (7) and my 6-year-old sister on the right. We are lifting a giant squash. There's a few things I need to explain...

I grew up in the middle of nowhere Idaho. We had a giant garden. The pride and joy of my father. We grew giant things. Giant radishes, tomatoes, watermelon, squash, corn, cabbage, zucchini, cucumbers, pumpkins...and that's just what I can remember.

As you can see by my fashion sense, I was very influenced by my father who never wore a shirt in the summer and wore jeans. Hence, my shirtless jean look. Plus, I made granny panties a thing in the 70's!

I didn't put a shirt on until I had to, if you know what I mean. And trust me, I was super disappointed when THAT happened.

But I love this picture, and I get to look at it when I have coffee, because my brother made mugs out of it a while back.

Why do I like this photo? Because it reminds me that I was a goober, and didn't care. I love that my parents were okay that I walked around like that...
