Every once in a while, I wonder if I should have made a different choice 30 years ago...

I never went to college. In fact, none of my siblings did either. My two older brothers graduated high school and went right into the family business:

By the time my sister and I graduated high school, he no longer had the business. I moved around for a couple of years and then found myself in Maine at the ripe age of 21.

I took a few courses at USM as a 26-year old, but found it too hard to juggle that and a morning show job.

So I stopped going.

People are surprised when they find out I didn't go to college. Then they always say, 'Ahhhh, no college loans.' It's true. I don't have that giant debt (which by the way is MORE than credit card debt in this country for the first time!)

I know I could always go back...but to be honest with you, I really don't know if I could. I wouldn't even know how to be a student again. Let alone a college student.

Sometimes I wonder if things would be different, if my path in life would have veered to another career HAD I actually gone to college. I find myself in a very small group of people...those that didn't go to school.

Don't get me wrong. I have a great career and I am super lucky that they pay this old uneducated woman, who every once in a while makes someone laugh.

Did anyone else not go to college? Or am I it?
