This is Movie Mom's favorite weekend. Not for the new releases, but it's Oscar weekend! She did review the latest movies out  including 'Hot Tub Time Machine 2'.

She didn't have a lot to say about this one except, 'No more. No more'. She did enjoy the unbelievable true story 'McFarland USA' about a cross country coach (Kevin Costner) in a small California town who transforms a team of athletes into championship contenders. If it wasn't a true story, you'd never believe it!

And lastly 'The DUFF' - the high school romantic comedy that doesn't sway too far from the old standby formula: mean girl, trip to the mall and slang from last year. Movie Mom thought it was okay, but Mae Whitman who plays the lead is 26 years old and too old to be playing a high school kid. She thought it was okay though and middle school and high school kids will enjoy.

Out on DVD this week includes some Oscar* nominees:

  • Birdman*
  • The Theory of Everything*
  • St. Vincent
  • Dumb and Dumber To (not nominated)

She also shared her pics for best picture/actor and actress for Sunday's Oscars! Find out who she thinks will win 'Best Picture' and who she wants to win. Hear the full interview here:
