My First Concert at The Maine State Pier [PICS]
I had never seen a concert at the Maine State Pier. I saw Matt Nathanson and Phillip Phillips and it was amazing!
I remember when Matt Nathanson came to the radio station in 2009. 'Higher' was a huge hit and he did a small private concert for some lucky listeners. Matt has ties to Maine (family is from Portland and surrounding area) and is one of the funniest, warmest and most generous performers. I was lucky enough to get to meet him after for a quick picture. Actually, I got very lucky and the whole family got to meet him too!
Listen..I didn't muckle onto him..he hugged ME! He was one of the most entertaining singers I've ever seen. He talked to the audience as much as played and he was funny and just...giving. I loved him and so did the whole audience!
The night was perfect and the sky got really pretty...
I must say that I completely recommend getting seated seating and not the general admission. Yes, they are more expensive, but I think well worth it.
Phillip Phillips was the headliner and he wasn't as talkative as Matt, but he rocked the place and the crowd loved him!
It was a great night. I met a ton of listeners. One even told me how she had to sing 'Meat or Cheese' to win her tickets! Too funny.
The whole family came. For the boys (8) it was their first concert and inspired by 11-year-old Chloe who is a huge fan of Matt Nathanson. They all had a blast! I can't wait to see my second concert at the Maine State Pier.
