My son watches a lot of YouTube videos, and one of the popular ones going around among his school is of a game that I had to check out. It turned out to be the scariest game I've ever played.

It's called 'Five Nights at Freddy's.' It's currently available on PC and mobile devices and is in development for consoles. The game is really simple, but the environment it creates will scare the snot out of you.

You play an overnight security guard in a restaurant for kids, similar to Chuck E. Cheese, that has animatronic puppets. At night though, they walk around the restaurant and turn into killers. Your job is to survive for five nights by monitoring them on cameras from a security office and keeping your doors closed to keep them away from you without losing power. It's easier said than done.

The game doesn't have a rating, but there is no violence or sex. It's just the tension and the jump-scares that will get you, so it's up to you to decide if it's appropriate for your kids. Mine has not played it himself, and I don't let him watch the videos anymore now that I've had a look, but he'll be able to handle it in a year or two I think.

If you dare, watch this let's play video by a guy who is a little annoying to listen to and drops some f-bombs when he gets scared, but I did too.
