Spike Lee comes out with 'Chi-Raq'. A very controversial movie that Movie Mom says you will either love or hate. She loved it.

It's set in Chicago, but they call it Chi-Raq because more people are killed by gun violence than soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Movie Mom loved the cast:  Nick Cannon, Teyonah Parris, Wesley Snipes and Samuel L. Jackson. She couldn't believe Nick Cannon! The concept is that the women in town decide to deny the men 'loving' if they don't stop killing people! Mmmm...timely.

On the complete opposite end of the movie spectrum is 'The Letters'. A drama that explores the life of Mother Teresa through letters she wrote to her longtime friend and spiritual advisor, Father Celeste van Exem over a nearly 50-year period. Movie Mom enjoyed it.

Then a lighter film out this week is, 'A Royal Night Out'. On V.E. Day in 1945, as peace extends across Europe, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret are allowed out to party. It is a night full of excitement, danger and the first flutters of romance and 100% NOT based on true events.

Then there's a movie not worth spending your money on called, 'Christmas Eve'. Hilarity, romance, and transcendence prevail after a power outage traps six different groups of New Yorkers inside elevators on Christmas Eve starring Patrick Stewart. Sounds okay until you learn that Larry King produced and it stars his wife. Yes THAT Larry King with the suspenders!
