Four schools in the Oxford Hills School District were put in a working lockdown due to a report of a person driving in the area armed and threatening self harm. A working lockdown is when the building is secured but classes continue as usual.

The report came into the Paris Police Department shortly after 11:30 Thursday morning. That's when the Guy E. Rowe School, Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, Oxford Hills Middle School and Paris Elementary School went into the working lockdown as a precaution.

The person threatening self harm was stopped and apprehended about 30 minutes later on the Lake Road in Norway and taken into custody.

Paris Police stated "There was never any threat directed towards our schools, but out of caution we asked that the lockdown procedures be implemented."
