Police In Maine Are Warning About A Sneaky New Phone Scam

Stop if you've heard this one before, someone has invented yet another phone scam to be on the lookout for. Ellsworth Police took to their Facebook page this morning to warn residents of that area (and everyone else statewide) about a potential new scam that may show up in your life at any time.

The idea of asking for a payout before receiving a very important call or message isn't a new idea, but mixing that with a 207 number gives the scam some serious legitimacy. If you receive any of these calls, DO NOT give out any personal or banking information, and contact your local police department immediately.
