The police department in Lowell, Michigan pulled several people over recently for minor traffic violations, but instead of giving them a ticket, they gave them just what they were looking for for Christmas.

Imagine you get pulled over by the police for having illegally tinted windows. While the officer is looking over your license and registration he asks you if you've finished your Christmas shopping. You say no and the he asks what the kids want for Christmas. You tell him, wondering why this guy is being so nice and hoping he won't give you a ticket. The next thing you know, the exact gift that your daughter wanted is in his hands and he's asking you to open your trunk so he can put it in.

That's what the Lowell, Michagan police department set up as part of the Up Television Network's "Uplift Someone" campaign that encourages people to do random acts of kindness for neighbors.

The department used cell phones and radios to listen in on the traffic stops while in a department store. Once they heard the gift that was needed, they rushed to purchase it and get it quickly to the officer to give to the driver. The look of shock and joy was priceless.
