Portland, Maine's brief summer season is best spent outdoors on a deck sipping local brews and chowing down on stellar snacks. These decks and patios throughout the Old Port serve up great atmosphere as well as plenty of adult beverages and food to keep you happy as a Casco Bay clam.

Novare Res

Awesome staff and beer selection. Go for the vibe and killer selection of brews. Inside is a cool wine cellar feel and the have a sweet outside deck as well. Tucked away between the buildings in Old Port.

El Rayo Taqueria

El Rayo has the perfect spot and atmosphere. Legit, they have made a fun space with surfboards hanging from the ceiling as signage on where to order and pick up food, vintage epherma and memorabilia, and quirky decorations that fit in the space. With large windows opening up onto the street and onto a back deck.

Bayside Bowl

Everyone is talking about the rooftop and it's the new Portland hotspot. It's the only true rooftop deck bar in all of Portland (I don't count your semi roof Brian Boru). There's fire pits, live music, a taco truck in an Airstream, and a full bar.

The Porthole Restaurant & Pub

This is absolutely the best summer spot in the old port. Live music most nights, bars inside and out, and a huge deck to boogie on! I have yet to have a disappointing visit.

The Thirsty Pig

Great ambiance, a beautiful back deck, an extensive microbrew selection, and delicious food. This place has it all!
