The website Thrillist.com has published a new Top 25 list for the best cities in the U.S. to spend the weekend and coming in at number one is our beautiful city of Portland!

The researchers at Thrillist.com looked at all the cities in the U.S. with less than 90,000 residents, then calculated in all the restaurants, bars, things to do, places to visit, and outdoor activities.

Portland beat out Key West, Florida, Palm Springs, California, Newport, Rhode Island and 21 other cities to claim the coveted #1 spot to spend the weekend. The site even included a few restaurants suck as J's Oyster, that they describe as "a local haunt with a lot of history and no-nonsense service in the best way possible." Gilbert's Chowder House, Street and Co, and others. Of course they talk about the lighthouses and our miles of beaches.

Only 3 other New England cities made the list, Northampton, Massachusetts which was ranked at #23, Newport, Rhode Island came it at #16 and Burlington, Vermont cracked the top 10 at #8.
