Rent a Private Yacht in Maine? It’s Not As Crazy As It Sounds

This is the Mazu. You could vacation on this boat that sleeps 6 and has 1 and a half baths...and it's right in Damariscotta.

I love the concept of this B&B...bed and boat! It's the same price as a nice hotel. And not a super nice hotel either! The average is 233 a night. The 'Mazu' is a luxurious 42 foot floating vacation rental hotel - floatel - boatel that rides the tides of the scenic Damariscotta River. My favorite part? It never leaves the dock or the mooring. Spectacular!

The 42-foot boat features elegant bedding, a sleek kitchen, and a spacious deck for sunning and entertaining. There are two state rooms that is perfect for four guests and the boat can sleep up to six.

You can stretch out and relax in the magnificent aft Captain's Cabin, which accommodates a king-size bed and it has its own private head (WC) and shower.

The roomy forepeak stateroom, V-berth, features a queen-size bed, a large hanging locker and a half bath.
The large galley (kitchen) is open at the top so the chef is never isolated from salon conversation. It's complete with an upright refrigerator, electric stove, a large sink, coffee and tea maker.

The attractive dinette, opposite the galley to port (left), seats up to six adults comfortably. By night, it converts to a full-size double bed.
The spacious Main Salon (living room) provides an elegant setting for entertaining. Huge wrap-around windows flood the room with light, painting an ever-changing seascape. A sofa can be converted to a double bed, thus, the boat can accommodate up to eight people.

Would you do this? I would do this and I don't even know how to swim. For some reason, this sounds like a fancy camping trip, really different and super unique...and the best part - in my own backyard.
