Yarmouth residents take the Clam Festival Parade very seriously. So seriously in fact that they'll claim their spot on Main street days before the parade (see above photo).

It's become a bit of a ritual to place a lawn chair on the side of the road a couple days before the parade and the people of Yarmouth seem to respect other people's property and leave the chairs where the are.

Check out this video from Youtuber ThePogStory from a few years ago of Main street in Yarmouth a day before the parade. Residents claimed their spot on the street and when they came back the next day, their chairs were still there. Untouched. Not vandalized. If only the rest of the world were like the residents of Yarmouth, Maine.
